Brief Bio and Career Summary
David Freeman is a Senior Instructional Designer at USHEALTH Group, Inc. in downtown Fort Worth, Texas and President and CEO of Nissi Publishing, Inc., an Internet and Book Publisher. In his day job, he creates training materials for new insurance agents and assists the marketing department in competitive analysis and in developing a variety of marketing tools. Outside of work, he and his team of developers create professional websites and database applications for a variety of business and non-profit clients.
David began his work career as a teenager, running a popcorn stand, driving a laundry truck, and assembling and repairing lawnmowers and bicycles before discovering the exciting world of training and showing Tennessee Walking Horses. A six-year career as a show horse trainer was interrupted by a draft notice in early 1970.
After serving five years on active duty as a U.S. Army helicopter pilot, including a year in Vietnam as a medevac pilot, David returned to civilian life as a Commercial pilot. His flying career lead him into the computer industry.
David's military and civilian flying career has spanned over thirty-eight years, though not continuously. He is a Commercial and instrument rated pilot qualified to fly helicopters as well as single and multi-engine airplanes. He has been a military instructor pilot, a maintenance test pilot, a charter pilot, acorporate pilot, and an FAA certified flight instructor with approximately 6,000 hours in the cockpit. For approximately seventeen years, David worked in a variety of positions in the pharmacy computer industry. Starting as a flying field engineer, David moved up through the ranks into senior management. His experience includes field service; hardware and software production and quality control; software planning and development; training and curriculum development; customer service; customer relations; operations management; fleet management; facilities management; and litigation management.
Since 1987, David has run his own publishing business, Nissi Publishing. This company started as a desktop publishing entity and progressed into book publishing, then Internet publishing. Through Nissi, David, with the assistance of his wife and sons, has developed and published offering and private placement memorandums, newsletters, training curriculum, users manuals, training and promotional videos, books, and countless websites and database applications.
During the rapidly escalating DOT.COM era, David worked with a variety of companies as a website developer, project manager, and database administrator, gaining tremendous experience in the field of online communications.
David plays guitar and electric bass and has performed with musical groups since high school. He currently plays electric bass guitar in a church worship band. David's two passions remain flying and writing. He has several books in various stages of development and flies whenever an opportunity is presented.
