The political climate in our country has become quite polarized. It appears this trend will continue, which I suspect is in keeping with Biblical prophecies about end times events. Sometimes I find it important to remember that throughout history civilizations have risen and fallen and the political climate has been in perpetual turmoil. That's because the earth is inhabited by men and women who have inherited a fallen nature.
Today the battle rages between Conservatives and Progressives. I make no apologies about being in the first camp. I hold sacred the fact that this country was founded by Christians who intended it be governed according to Christian principles and in harmony with God's will. I value Freedom. I value traditional families and traditional family values.
I know a few progressives or liberals and the ones I know aren't bad people. Most sincerely desire change to make things better. They look at the world through a different set of lenses. Unfortunately, they're not very realistic in what they expect because they don't understand human nature. They don't seem to understand some simple realities. Take war, for example. Sure war is bad, but sometimes not fighting a war is worse. War protestors seem to think that if they wave a sign and ask bad guys and good guys to stop fighting, they will. Good guys might. Bad guys could care less about your sign.
I'm fairly proactive about helping to maintain the freedoms I cherish. When my country called upon me to serve, I did so and considered it a privlege. I vote in every election, studying the issues and the candidates and casting my vote wisely. I support my party financially and I support national organizations that have clout and who value the same things I value, among those the National Rifle Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
I write and publish books and articles that support those things in which I believe and I carry a gun. This is a recent development. If that makes you wonder, read Why I Carry a Gun.
