Highways in the SkyHighways in the Sky - Adventures of a Working Pilot

Published in 2004

When you fly airplanes and helicopters stories just happen. Pilots keep sketchy notes in their logbooks. I expanded on some of mine before forgetting the whole story.

This books is designed for people who like airplanes and flying. It's full of short, easy-to-read stories spanning more than 30 years of civilian and military flying. I hope to keep flying and keep generating more stories.

Dustoff Stories (Cervene Krize nad Vietnamen)

Published in 2002

This Czech publisher noticed my stories on DeltaDustoff.com and wanted to publish them in the Czech language. I think my total royalties to date are about $10.72, plus I got 10 copies of the book.

Someday, I'll get these published in English, but with a lot more background. That will be the Delta Dustoff book, coming whenever.

 The Jesus Nut

Published in 1996

The title of this book was meant as a double entendre. The main rotor retaining nut on some types of helicopters, such as the UH-1 Hueys flown in Vietnam is commonly called "the Jesus Nut" because if it comes off in flight, you're going to meet Jesus, whether you're ready to or not. The other Jesus Nut in the book is the main character - Eric Mohr, a warrant officer helicopter pilot.

Mohr's brother-in-law, Steve Cooper, is also a pilot in Vietnam--a Navy pilot flying OV-10 Broncos. This is an adventure story involving a risky POW rescue, along with other exciting adventures. This book is being redone in 2008 as Beyond Binh Thuy.

The Health Care Professional's Guide to Successful Computerization

Published in 1988

When I wrote this book I was employed in the pharmacy computer industry, helping resolve service issues. The whole service concept was evolving as evidenced by self-service gas stations and self-service checkout lines. Service like consumers want it is unaffordable. This book was an effort to help pharmacists and other purchasers of business computer systems realize the responsibilities they must take in order to make automation work for them. It was a new concept at the time.
